Warrior Geisha, also known as Onna-Bugeisha, are female warriors in feudal Japan who were trained in martial arts and fighting techniques. They were trained to protect themselves and their families from attack, and also sometimes fought alongside male samurai in battles.
These women were skilled in the use of weapons such as the naginata (a type of pole weapon), the bow and arrow, and other hand-to-hand combat techniques. They were often trained from a young age and were expected to maintain physical strength and agility throughout their lives.
Warrior Geisha were not necessarily geishas, who were women trained in the arts of traditional entertainment and companionship. However, some women may have practiced both warrior skills and geisha arts.
Although the role of women as warriors declined during the peaceful Edo period in Japan, accounts of female warriors fighting in battles can be found throughout Japanese history.
